Address – The official congress venue and the registration and secretariat area will be in Amphitheatre Hall-Diikitirio, Prefecture of Drama, 66100 Drama, Greece. Tel: +3025210 62260, Fax: +3025210 62249.
The 2nd and the 3rd hall will be in the Municipal Conservatory, next to the central hall (five minutes walking distance from the City Center, both of them).
Parking Area – There is a large parking area, at the Congress Venue. The parking in the city is easy and safe.
Cloak room and Storage – A cloak room will be available. Luggage can also be stored.
Food and drinks – Coffee and refreshments stations will be installed at various points in the exhibition area of the congress.
Business Center – A business center will be located in congress venue providing fax, email, and computer services.
Exhibition – A large exhibition highlighting medical devices, pharmaceutical products and books will take place.
Climate and Clothing – The weather in late of April and May is pretty warm, the temperature is around 18° – 25° C. At this time of year light clothing is recommended. However evenings may be cooler, occasional rain showers may occur. It is advisable to bring some warm clothes with you.
Visa and passports – Citizens of most countries of the world will need only a valid passport, E.C. citizens their national Identification papers. Please consult your travel agent or the Greek Embassy in your country regarding the necessity of a visa.
Health – Medical Service and Facilities are excellent. The water is drinkable and the quality high, but bottle mineral water is available in all convenience stores.
Security – The city of Drama is the safest city in Greece.
Banking and currency – Credit Cards – The currency in Greece is Euro, a bank service is easy and the opening hours are Monday – Friday 08:30 – 13:30. All major credit cards are accepted in banks, hotels and large stores.
Letter of Invitation – Upon request the honorable president and Prefect of Drama will be pleased to send a personal letter of invitation so as to enable participants to obtain supporting funds or visas for attending congress. This letter cannot be considered as an offer of financial support by the organizers.
Physically challenged – The city of Drama and the congress venue are well accessible for Physically challenged. Please inform us earlier to take care about your convenient service.
Restaurants – The greek cuisine is one of the most delicious and gustatory in the world, but many kinds of food and many restaurants are available. For special needs in feeding please inform us earlier.
Name Badges – Participants are obliged to wear the official congress name badges on all congress occasions.
Nightlife and events – The entertainment in the city of Drama is a unique experience, where the nightlife starts after midnight.
Electricity – The electricity voltage is 220 Volts (50Hz). Please check the voltage before plugging in electrical appliances.
Time Zone – Greece’s time in GMT is 1 plus.
Transportation
By Air - “Alexander the Great” airport (Chrisoupoli area, 30 min. from the city of Drama) is linked to connecting flights via Athens. “Macedonia” airport (1 ½ hours from the city of Drama) is linked to many European cities with direct flights, as well as excellent intercontinental connections. Please contact your travel agency for flight information.
By Car – From the national road Athens – Thessaloniki – Drama (Egnatia National Road).
By Train – By express train “Intercity” from Athens. By standard train from Thessaloniki, Xanthi, Komotini, Alexandroupoli.
Airport Desk – For all assistance and information, an airport desk from the organizers will be available upon arrival at “Alexander the Great” airport.
Local transport – A free shuttle service will operate between the congress hotels and venue. Major car rental companies are represented at the airport. The local transport is easy and the taxis are cheap. However, Drama is a small city and is very easy to move on foot.
Tourist information - A Tourist information desk as well as a travel agent desk will be available in the registration area at the congress venue.
